Vanuatu MICS 2023 Data Interpretation and Report Compilation Workshop
A successful five-day workshop concluded on March 1st, 2024, at the Holiday Inn, bringing together key stakeholders to delve into the valuable data collected from the Vanuatu Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS 2023). Organized by the Vanuatu Bureau of Statistics (VBoS), the workshop focused on data interpretation and report compilation, aiming to unlock the full potential of the MICS 2023 findings.
The collaborative effort, involving representatives from VBoS, various government ministries, UNICEF, UNFPA, and SPC, emphasized the importance of the MICS 2023 in providing high-quality data on the situation of children, adolescents, women, and households in Vanuatu.
Beyond data interpretation, the workshop aimed to utilize the findings to inform future policy decisions. By identifying disparities within the data, participants gained valuable insights to guide policies promoting social inclusion. The workshop also addressed the crucial role of data validation in generating accurate national and global Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicators.
The successful workshop marks a significant step forward in utilizing the MICS 2023 data to its full potential. The comprehensive reports currently being compiled will serve as a critical resource for policymakers, program developers, and stakeholders dedicated to improving the lives of Vanuatu's children, women, and households.
