International Arrival Statistics (IAS) - FEBRUARY 2018

 

OVERVIEW

International visitor arrivals by air totalled 6,266 or 22% of all international arrivals to Vanuatu. This is an increase of 12% over the corresponding period in 2017 but it declined by 38% over the previous month. The increase in air visitors was attributed by the number of visitor arrivals for holiday.

Cruise ship or day visitors stood at 21,674 or 78% of all international arrivals to Vanuatu. This is an increase of 16% over the corresponding month in 2017 with 11 cruise ships although carrying fewer passengers on board compared to 7 cruise ships in February 2018 carrying more passengers. Day visitors declined by 37% over the previous month.

 

  SUMMARY OF VISITORS TO OUTER ISLANDS

• Tafea province received the highest number of visitors at 44% each; followed by Sanma province at 37%.
• Visitors who travelled to outer islands spent an average of 8 days.
