Dissemination of new the new Statistics Act no.7 of 2022, MICS 2023 and Statistical Products in Emua Village
The Vanuatu Bureau of Statistics (VBoS) has successfully launched a community outreach program to raise awareness about the Statistics Act and disseminate various statistical products. The initial event took place in Emua Village, North Efate, on September 19th.
The program featured presentations on the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (NSDS), the Statistics Act, and key statistical surveys such as the Vanuatu National Agriculture Census (VNAC) and the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS).
VBoS staff members also shared monographs on gender, disability, youth, and the constituency profile, providing valuable insights into the social and demographic landscape of Emua Village.
The VBoS plans to expand this outreach program to more communities in Efate, Santo, and Tanna throughout the year. This initiative aims to ensure that statistical information is accessible to a wider audience and can be used to inform decision-making at all levels.
By engaging with communities directly, the VBoS is strengthening its relationship with the public and promoting the importance of statistics in understanding and addressing societal challenges.
